Are you questioning the Mormon Church?
Questioning your beliefs can be a challenging and emotional journey, particularly if you have been brought up in the LDS community. However, it’s essential to recognize that your doubts and concerns are legitimate and worth exploring. If something is true, it should be able to withstand scrutiny and investigation. That’s why this website offers a safe space for you to ask tough questions, examine your beliefs, and seek answers. True faith should not be afraid of critical inquiry but rather embraces it as a way to strengthen one’s convictions. So whether you need support or guidance, or simply a place to start your search for truth, we invite you to explore this site and take your unanswered-questions-to-the-Bishop “off the shelf” to find out whether you are indeed abiding in the truth.
You may have heard the claim that “If Mormonism isn’t true, then nothing is true.” However, this statement is not accurate. As Christian apologist, Dr. Walter Martin pointed out, “Counterfeits always presuppose an original. And, of course, in the case of Christianity, that original is the Bible and the historic Christian faith based upon it.” This means that if Mormonism is not true, it may be because it is a counterfeit version of Christianity, which in turn implies that there is an original faith from which the counterfeit has deviated. Therefore, questioning the validity of Mormonism does not necessarily mean rejecting all religious beliefs, but rather seeking to understand the true nature of the Christian faith.
There is nothing worth more in life than knowing the Jesus Christ of the Bible, and this is the question that you must ask yourself, do I know Jesus? We are told by Jesus, “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matt 7:22-23). Therefore, even if you suffer guilt, confusion, loss, and separation from family members by disfellowship and shunning, not one of those things that you left behind can compare to the immeasurable glory of knowing Christ. The Apostle Paul says it best, “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ” (Phil 3:8).
Leaving Mormonism can bring up feelings of guilt, confusion, and even a sense of loss, but we are here to assure you in the words of Christ, “every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life” (Matt 19:29, KJV). We are also here to help you, please reach out to us here, and if you are in the Salt Lake area we are even able to meet up with you personally to talk about things, and to give you counsel according to the Word of God. If you are outside of the Salt Lake area we will help you get connected with a local Pastor who will be able to counsel you and help you walk in the way of Jesus Christ during this difficult time in your life.
